Late October 1918. First World War will be over soon, but for few Eastern European nations final struggle for independence has just began. On ruins of Austro-Hungarian empire, tension between Polish and Ukrainian people is growing. In the next few days it will change into military conflict, which will envelop Eastern part of Galicia; its capital is crucial point on the map. Lwów is known as city always faithul to Poland - Semper fidelis - a pearl in the crown of Polish Kingdom, which collapsed in the late 18th century. Lviv is a cradle of Ukrainian identity, place where spirit of the young nation is rising. Both sides can't imagine own country without THIS city. One bloody fight is coming... Semper Fidelis: Battle of Lwów 1918-1919 is a 2-player scenario-based strategy game, in which you will fight for control over capital of Eastern Galicia as Polish or Ukrainian leader. During the course of each scenario you will lead to combat regular and volunteer units, mobilize new soldiers, build fortifications, gather various supplies, spread propaganda, help civilians and negotiate alliances with neutral forces. On all of these activities you will spend action points provided by cards and supply tokens. Cards are important part of the gameplay - you can use them to get more action points or to apply certain effects e.g bonus to military strenght in combat phase. In order to win you have to gather more victory points than your opponent. To achieve that, take over control of strategic city districts, defeat enemy units, make alliances, kill enemy commanders and keep morale of your army high. Game has five scenarios of various play time: each of them is based on specific event or period of Polish-Ukrainian War: Coup - entry scenario set during first days of November 1918. Highly recommended for new players. One stage. Semper Fidelis - main game scenario; November 1-24, 1918. Three stages. Relief - battle between Ukrainian army and Polish soldiers strengthened by relief forces; November 20-23, 1918. One stage. Siege - period between December 1, 1918 and January 31, 1919. Two stages.
