Ascension has a moderate influence of luck. The game strikes a balanced mix of luck and strategy, with player decisions being the primary factor in determining the outcome.
In this beautiful wooden game, you have to climb on top of the "mountain" (the wooden cubes) and go back to your starting point before the other players. Some of the cubes have a symbol, which means a special power : the ladder helps to climb faster, the abyss must be avoided. Some cubes may be passed through only by the players represented on the cube. Ascension won the "Pion d'Or" award in 1982. A winner of the 1982 Concours International de Créateurs de Jeux de Société.
