Table feel

The game has a moderate level of direct confrontation and strategic depth. Players need to frequently pay attention to and react to each other's strategies. However, there is less emphasis on cooperation as players primarily compete against each other.

Replay value

The game offers a high level of variability with different experiences each time it is played. The presence of expansions adds new content and gameplay elements. There is significant strategic depth and room for players to improve their strategy over time. The game adapts well to different player counts without compromising its appeal or balance. While it may take some time to learn, the depth it offers makes it worth the investment.

Luck profile

The final luck score for Operation Cerberus: The Channel Dash is 6. This indicates that the game has a balanced mix of luck and strategy. Random elements have a notable but not exclusive impact on the game outcome, and players have substantial ability to mitigate randomness through strategic decisions and planning. While luck does play a role, it is not heavily dependent on luck and is primarily determined by player strategy and decisions.

Overview

This is the twelfth game in the Pocket Battle Games series from LPS, Inc. From Wikipedia: The Channel Dash, (codenamed Operation Cerberus by the Germans), was a major naval engagement during World War II in which a German Kriegsmarine squadron consisting of both Scharnhorst class battleships, and heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen along with escorts, ran a British blockade and successfully sailed from Brest in Brittany to their home bases in Germany via the English Channel. As the German player you want to push your capital ships through the Channel, attracting as little attention to them as possible. Where needed the Luftwaffe will support you, tackling any possible opposition by the RAF or Royal Navy. And hopefully you will not hit any mines... As the British player you hope to raise the alarm as soon as possible. Depending on the level of alert you can deploy the RAF and Royal Navy and sink the Kriegsmarine's hope of dashing through unscathed.
