Overview

Right-wing Army Generals have rebelled against the Spanish Republic, aided by Hitler's Germany and Mussolini's Italy! To save Spain, three factions - Anarchists, Communists, and Moderates - must put aside their differences and forge an anti-fascist alliance. But can you trust your allies when your agendas are directly opposed? Every turn, the Fascists will launch attacks on the 4 Fronts and one Front will be particularly tested. Players will be rewarded for their teamwork in repelling those Attacks, but certain strategic defeats can be even more rewarding. Players choose to play their cards either for the unique Events or add them to their Tableaus, building for more powerful turns in the future. Each player has 2 tracks to maximize, triggering bonuses and potentially earning Medallions which give immediate boosts or permanent upgrades. Initiative will be held by the faction that controls the Government, unless the Anarchist Revolution is even more powerful. At the end of every turn, the Initiative player gets to add one of their tokens to the bag of Glory. When each of the 3 years comes to an end, tokens will be drawn from the bag to add to the final score. If the war is won by holding 3 out of 4 Fronts for the Republic, whichever faction has the most Glory will win the game.
