Forestry is an economic strategy game about managing a renewable forest over ten rounds. Each player controls a harvester on a shared hex map and a sawmill manager on a personal production board. Action points let the harvester move, fell mature trees, plant seedlings, build infrastructure, and improve water retention, while the manager hires temporary workers, runs sawmill buildings, develops technology, and completes contracts for wooden products. Every tree species has its own growth cycle and every intervention affects the health and productivity of the landscape, so extracting value without restoring the forest is a short-lived plan. Public tasks, contracts, life markers, infrastructure, and end-game ecological rewards create several connected scoring paths, while a separate automated forester provides solo opposition.
