Unmatched: Sun's Origin is a standalone two-fighter set in Restoration Games' asymmetric combat system. Oda Nobunaga enters Azuchi Castle with two Honor Guard sidekicks and rewards coordinated positioning: an enemy caught adjacent to multiple Oda fighters becomes flanked and vulnerable to stronger card effects. Tomoe Gozen plays the opposite rhythm, pursuing the opposing hero and punishing movement out of her zone with attacks of opportunity. On every turn, players take two actions—maneuver, scheme, or attack—while managing a finite deck that serves as hand, tactical toolkit, and game clock. Line of sight, zones, boost values, and combat card timing keep the rules compact but the decisions sharp. Both heroes can fight any character from another Unmatched set, and the map supports the wider system, making Sun's Origin equally effective as an entry point and as a distinct tactical expansion for an existing roster.
