Overview

Square on Sale combines elements of Othello, an auction game, and Manhattan. Players bid for the right to build stories of buildings on different blocks. However, in a manner very reminiscent of Othello, when you build in two different blocks, you also get to add a floor of your color to any building in between. When the game ends, the player who owns the top floor of the building scores all of the points. The components are mostly wood, and of good quality, but this is clearly a scratch-built game. 1st Place 2005 Hippodice Spieleautorenwettbewerb.
