Table feel

Karak II has a high level of direct confrontation with battles and competitive actions that have immediate impact on opponents. It also offers strategic depth through resource denial, market manipulation, and strategic positioning. Players need to frequently pay attention to others' strategies and turns. However, the game does not emphasize cooperation as much. Overall, Karak II has a strong interaction score.

Replay value

Karak II offers a high level of variability with its gameboard, multiple paths to victory, and variable setups. The presence of expansions adds to the replay value, providing new content and gameplay elements. The game also offers deep strategic possibilities and room for improvement over time. The player interaction score is moderate, and the game scales well with different numbers of players. While it may take some time to learn, the depth it offers makes it worth the effort. Overall, Karak II has a strong replayability score of 7.69.

Luck profile

Karak II has a moderate influence of luck. While random elements like dice rolls and card draws have a notable impact on the game outcome, players have substantial ability to mitigate randomness through strategic decisions and planning. The game relies on a balanced mix of luck and strategy, with player decisions playing a significant role in determining the outcome.

Overview

Karak 2 is a standalone sequel to one the Top 10 Children’s Games on BGG Karak. The second installment adds a more complex layer while staying approachable for kids. Each player becomes a hero, trying to defeat monsters and their leader, the Dark General. However, to achieve that, they will have to collect resources, build and develop their cities and train new units (represented by dice) to add to their army. Over the course of the game the players will defeat monsters carrying powerful Soul Stones – and the player with the most Soul Stones at the end of the game is the winner. —description from the publisher
