The final replayability score indicates a high level of variability, strategic depth, and adaptability to different player counts. The game offers a fresh experience each time it is played and allows players to improve their strategies over time. The presence of expansions adds new content and gameplay elements, further enhancing the replay value. While the game may not be the easiest to learn, it offers a rewarding and engaging experience for those willing to invest the time.
Jours de Gloire Campagne: Le Danube has a moderate level of luck influence. Random elements have minimal impact on the game outcome, and players have substantial ability to mitigate randomness through strategic decisions and planning. The game outcome is primarily determined by player strategy and decisions, with luck playing a minor role.
Vae Victis issue 41. This, the first in the "Jours de Gloire" series, covers three campaigns in the Danube: Hohenlinden (1800), Austerlitz (1805), and Wagram (1809). The map is point-to-point, with hidden units supplying fog-of-war. As this is the first game in the series, Vae Victis recommends using the corrected and modified rules available in issue 52. This issue also includes a few corrected counters for issue 40. Also included are counters and scenarios for En Pointe Toujours II (#31), and also a campaign and new planes (Russian) for GMT's "Zero!", covering the 1939 Nomonhan campaign. As with all Vae Victis games, the counters need to be cut out and mounted. The rules are entirely in French, although translations are available online.
