Table feel

Forest Sky has a high level of direct confrontation and strategic depth, with frequent interaction between players. However, it does not emphasize cooperation as much.

Replay value

Forest Sky has a high replayability score due to its high variability in the gameboard, the presence of expansions, deep strategic possibilities, and good scalability. It offers a fresh experience each time it is played and allows players to discover new tactics and strategies. The game also adapts well to different player counts without compromising its appeal or balance. Although it may take some time to learn, the depth it offers makes it worth the effort.

Luck profile

Forest Sky has a moderate level of luck involved in the game. Random elements such as dice rolls or card draws have a notable but not exclusive impact on the game outcome. Players have some ability to mitigate the effects of randomness through strategic decisions and planning. The game relies on a balanced mix of luck and strategy, with neither element dominating the outcome. Overall, Forest Sky provides a good balance between luck and player agency.

Overview

Crows, hawks, eagles and owls wheel and whirl above the forest. The constant motion highlights the shifting balance of power that determines who really rules these skies. Forest Sky is an 18-card hand management game where 2-4 players compete for the best 6-card scoring combination. Each card features a unique scoring rule, with players using both the 3 cards in their hand (“the sky”) and one of the shared card pools in play (“the “forest”) for final scoring. As players draw cards, they’ll fill the forests and shape the skies in their favor to win the game. Contained in Casual Game Insider Magazine CGI#45(2023).
