Replay value

Wayward has a high replayability score due to its strong variability in the gameboard, expansions available, strategic depth, scalability, and moderate easiness to learn. The game offers different experiences each time it is played, with the potential for players to improve their strategy over time. The presence of expansions adds new content and gameplay elements, further enhancing replay value. The game adapts well to different player counts without compromising its appeal or balance. While it may take some time to learn, it is still manageable for most players. Overall, Wayward provides a fresh and engaging experience with high replayability.

Luck profile

Wayward has a moderate influence of luck. Random elements have a notable but not exclusive impact on the game outcome. Players have substantial ability to mitigate randomness through strategic decisions and planning. The game outcome is primarily determined by player strategy and decisions, with luck playing a minor role.

Overview

Wayward is a fully cooperative board game based on the Image Comics series of the same name in which teenagers imbued with supernatural power defend the world from Yokai, Japanese mythological creatures and spirits. In the game, players assume the roles of the comic's heroes and work together to defeat villains controlled by the game itself.
