Replay value

Waka Waka offers a high level of variability with its gameboard, allowing for different experiences each time it is played. The presence of expansions adds to the replay value, providing new content and gameplay elements. The game offers deep strategic possibilities, allowing players to improve their strategy over time. The player interaction score is average, and the game scales well with different numbers of players. While it may take some time to learn, the depth it offers justifies the investment. Overall, Waka Waka has a strong replayability score of 8.15.

Luck profile

Waka Waka has a moderate influence of luck. Random elements have a notable but not exclusive impact on the game outcome. Players have substantial ability to mitigate randomness through strategic decisions and planning. The game outcome is primarily determined by player strategy and decisions, with luck playing a minor role.

Overview

"Waka Waka" means "Do it" in Swahili, and what players are doing in this game as African traders is buying goods – hides, salt, tea, textiles, jewelry and fruit from faraway lands – as cheaply as possible. The goods on offer, however, are mostly obscured, so whoever doesn't want to buy a pig in a poke, so to speak, might want to send out his chimpanzee for a closer look at the goods before laying out any money. The players want to keep the village shaman fulfilled for as long as the fire illuminates the shaman, he'll help you in your trading efforts. The other villagers have special skills of their own that you can call on for support. Waka Waka is set in the same thematic world as Rüdiger Dorn's Jambo, which Kosmos first released in 2004.
