Replay value

Space Invaders: The Board Game offers a high level of variability in gameplay experiences with its variable gameboard, multiple paths to victory, and random elements. The presence of expansions adds new content and gameplay elements, enhancing replay value. The game provides deep strategic possibilities and room for improvement in tactics and strategies. While the player interaction score is average, the game scales well with different numbers of players without compromising its appeal or balance. The easiness to learn score is moderate, allowing players to grasp the game without excessive complexity. Overall, Space Invaders: The Board Game has a strong replayability score of 7.9 out of 10.

Luck profile

Space Invaders: The Board Game has a low influence of luck. The game outcome is predominantly determined by random elements such as dice rolls or card draws, with very little room for players to influence or mitigate the effects of randomness. However, players have substantial ability to mitigate randomness through strategic decisions and planning, which reduces the overall luck dependence. The final luck score for Space Invaders: The Board Game is 4.33, indicating a balanced mix of luck and strategy.

Overview

Based on the SPACE INVADERS arcade game. Competitive gameplay. Card/ Deck building game. Players move their cannons at the bottom of the board and can shoot the attacking Invaders that are added as new technology to their decks. Scanning invaders awards a secondary currency ("Alien Inteligence") that can be used to research otherwise unavailable technologies. The goal of the game is to find the most efficient way to convert energy into score and to have the highest score when the game ends. The game ends (in order of probability) when the invaders have destroyed the human base, if the alien command ship (UFO) has been defeated, or if only one player survives. —description from the designer
