Replay value

Sequence Cats has a high replayability score due to its high variability gameboard, impactful expansions, deep strategic possibilities, and good scalability. It offers a fresh and engaging experience each time it is played.

Luck profile

Sequence Cats has a moderate influence of luck. The game outcome is not solely determined by random elements, but they still have a notable impact. Players have some ability to mitigate the effects of randomness through strategic decisions and planning. The game relies on a balanced mix of luck and strategy, with neither element dominating the outcome.

Overview

In this variant edition of Sequence, the poker decks have been replaced by two decks each depicting 42 different breeds of house cat, from the Abyssinian to the Turkish Van. The board has been reduced from 10x10 to 7x12, with no wild corners. The Jacks have been replaced by Purr and Meow cards. As in traditional Sequence, the object of the game is for one player or team to form a line of five or more consecutive chips, either orthogonally or diagonally. Players take turns drawing and playing cards, using a card from hand to claim one space on the board matching the played card. 2 or 3 players can play; higher player counts are supported via team play.
