Moderate level of interaction with a good balance between direct confrontation and strategic depth.
Ponder has a high replayability score due to its high variability gameboard, impactful expansions, deep strategic possibilities, and good scalability. It offers a fresh and different experience each time it is played, allowing players to discover new tactics and strategies. The game adapts well to different player counts without compromising its appeal or balance. While it may take some time to learn, the depth it offers makes it worth the effort.
Ponder has a moderate influence of luck. Random elements have a notable but not exclusive impact on the game outcome. While some strategic decisions can influence the outcome, luck still plays a significant role. The game is a balanced mix of luck and strategy, with the game outcome primarily determined by player strategy and decisions, but with luck playing a moderate role.
Welcome to the Pond! You are just in time for the annual frog race. The distance is "one English pond", and your goal in Ponder is to get your team to the other side of the pond before everyone else. Your frogs can't jump clear from one side of the pond to the other, however, so you'll need to lay down lily pads so that they can cross the water. Since the pond is so crowded with frogs, you can move only as the cards tell you to. In game terms, each turn you can take one of three actions: 1. Place new lily pads. 2. Move one of your frogs by playing a card. 3. Draw a card.
