Replay value

Outpost 18 has a high variability gameboard, offering different experiences each time it is played. The presence of expansions adds new content and gameplay elements, enhancing replay value. The game also provides deep strategic possibilities and allows players to improve their tactics over time. The player interaction score is average, and the game scales well with different numbers of players. While it may take some time to learn, the game offers a good balance between easiness and depth. Overall, Outpost 18 has a strong replayability score of 8.05.

Luck profile

Outpost 18 has a moderate influence of luck. Random elements have a notable but not exclusive impact on the game outcome. Players have substantial ability to mitigate randomness through strategic decisions and planning. The game outcome is primarily determined by player strategy and decisions, with luck playing a moderate role.

Overview

Humanity has reached the edge of the asteroid belt. Warring nations fight for control over its’ caches of ion and ore. In this turn based strategy game, players build their space station and fleet from supply cards. The winner is the first player to take down their opponent’s Station Core. Outpost 18 is a two player 18 card game that plays in 10-15 minutes. Each card works double to give depth to an envelope-sized game — every play is a choice deployed as a base or a ship. Through careful planning, engine-building, and hand management, players can outwit their opponent for control over the belt. But be careful — unexpected attacks can blindside you, and leave you drifting through the cosmos like space-dust. —description from the designer
