March of the Ants: Evolved Edition is a fast-playing 4X strategy game about competing ant colonies. Players explore a modular meadow, extend tunnels, send workers into new tiles, harvest food, hatch larvae, and evolve heads, thoraxes, and abdomens into specialized species. Every expansion of the map creates fresh opportunities and new borders with rival nests. Area control in the meadow and the Great Tunnel rewards timely movement, while centipedes and opposing armies make unattended territory dangerous. The Evolved Edition revises the original 2015 design with updated mechanisms, resting cards, Great Tunnel battles, new graphic design, and wooden ant meeples. Despite the full arc of exploration, expansion, exploitation, and conflict, a game is designed to finish in sixty to ninety minutes. Solo and cooperative rules broaden the package, but the most dramatic stories come from colonies adapting to one another across a crowded living map.
