Players are historical 'wise men' in 13th C wandering across Europe piecing together information in a quest to find the Holy Grail. Players accumulate scraps of information from various obscure texts, trading information with other wandering scholars they may find, all the time trying to manage limited resources and avoid disasters in the form of bandits, inquisitions, and the plague.
