Overview of the game as written in the rule booklet: "You are the "Pilgrim" and will begin your journey from the City of Destruction with a heavy burden of sins on your back. You desperately want to get rid of your burden but must carry it until you arrive at the cross. Your destination is the Celestial City where you will receive a wonderful inheritance. To successfully complete the journey, you must travel through some dangerous territory. Evil forces will seek to discourage and defeat you by putting hindrances and obstacles in your path. You may become bogged down in the slough, face hungry lions, battle with Apollyon or encounter the terrible Giant Despair. You must be alert at all times, prepared to use the spiritual weapons acquired throughout the journey to defeat the enemy and receive your final reward." Similar to "Life," you walk through stages of a spiritual (Christian) journey facing the obstacles as described in John Bunyan's book "Pilgrim's Progress." The four pawns are "pilgrims" each having "burdens" that are removable. The object of the game is to remove the burden as fast as possible with game cards (i.e. Faith, Encouragement, Armor of God, etc...).
