Café Baras is a welcoming card-drafting and tableau-building game about capybara baristas competing for the town’s favorite café. On each turn, play a card from hand in one of two ways: buy it as food, drink, or décor for your growing shop, or serve the customer shown on it to earn money. Customers ask for particular combinations from the tableau; meet every need and that visitor becomes a Regular worth additional end-game points. A shared drafting line exposes opportunities and lets opponents anticipate which recipes, furnishings, and guests matter to you. Multi-use cards keep choices tight because every customer passed over is also an upgrade you may need. The thirty-minute format makes the engine arc compact: establish a menu, satisfy increasingly useful visitors, and align purchases with scoring goals before the café closes. Charming art and chunky pieces keep the presentation playful while contracts, drafting, and timing provide a real competitive puzzle.
