Azul Duel rebuilds the familiar drafting puzzle specifically for two players. Domes and tiles enter a shared market, but the order in which they are claimed determines both what you can place and what remains available to your rival. Each player develops a palace from modular boards whose overlapping layers create new scoring possibilities from game to game. Completing patterns, connecting decorative elements, and claiming end-game bonuses reward planning, while every draft is also a tactical denial. The rules retain Azul’s accessible rhythm but introduce enough spatial and timing pressure to make the contest feel sharper and more personal. With a compact footprint and a thirty-to-forty-five-minute arc, it is an abstract strategy game that rewards reading the evolving display as carefully as your own board.
