The game affenraffen has a high replayability score, indicating a great degree of variability, strategic depth, and adaptability to different player counts. The presence of expansions and moderate ease of learning further enhance its replay value.
Affenraffen has a moderate influence of luck. Random elements like dice rolls or card draws have a notable but not exclusive impact on the game outcome. Players have some ability to mitigate the effects of randomness through strategic decisions and planning. The game outcome is a balanced mix of luck and strategy.
Players frantically search for pairs among the face down tiles on the table. Both color (gold, green or blue) and animal (ape, zebra, lion, penguin or flamingo) must match to qualify as a pair. The object is to fulfill the conditions on one of four goal tiles, e.g. any three animal pairs with different colors. Players are allowed to use only one hand and can't peek at the pairs they've collected, so not only do they have remember where tiles are on the table, but exactly which pairs they need to finish the goal. Is a re-release of Zock! with different rules.
