Read the full game description

Naishi is a two-player tableau-building card game set in feudal Japan. Each player develops a province made from five visible cards in a Line and five hidden cards in hand, but the Shogun's law forbids freely changing their order. On a turn, a card from the shared River replaces the card in the matching position of a player's Hand or Line, so every attractive draft also asks where it can legally fit. Emissaries open a small set of exceptional actions, including rearranging a province or forcing a carefully timed exchange with the rival. When the River has emptied twice or a player calls the end, hands are revealed beneath Lines to form two-by-five territories and every character and structure scores according to its own positional pattern.
