Table feel

Kozo has a high level of direct confrontation and strategic depth in confrontation. Players must frequently pay attention to and react to each other's strategies and turns. While there is some level of cooperation required, it is not a major emphasis in the game.

Replay value

Kozo has a high replayability score due to its strong variability, strategic depth, and scalability. The game offers different experiences each time it is played with multiple paths to victory and variable setups. The presence of expansions adds new content and gameplay elements, further enhancing the replay value. Players have room to improve their strategy over time, discovering new tactics and strategies. The game adapts well to different player counts without compromising its appeal or balance. While it may take some time to learn, the depth it offers makes it worth the investment.

Luck profile

Kozo has a moderate level of luck involved in the game. Random elements have a notable but not exclusive impact on the game outcome. Players have a substantial ability to mitigate randomness through strategic decisions and planning. The game outcome is primarily determined by player strategy and decisions, with luck playing a minor role.

Overview

ACTOP: Ancient Construct Tower of Philosopher, a.k.a. ?????????? or KOZO, is a three-dimensional stacking game in which players build chimney-shaped towers out of polycubes placed onto a board. One round is composed of the two actions of placing one of the twelve polycubes and a balance stone within the confines of the 8 square-gridded base. The cubes of the positioned polycubes dictate the points awarded. If a player's tower topples, they lose the game. The game ends when a player's tower topples over or if all the available polycubes have been placed. At the end of the game, the player with the highest score wins. This game is a development of the designer's earlier game Ancient Construct. Since the raw materials were no longer available to make Ancient Construct, the designer revised the game, introducing a strategic element and expanding play to six players.
