Replay value

Drinks & Daggers has a high replayability score due to its high variability gameboard, impactful expansions, deep strategic possibilities, and good scalability. It offers fresh experiences each time it is played and allows players to discover new tactics and strategies. The game adapts well to different player counts without compromising its appeal or balance. While it may take some time to learn, the depth it offers makes it worth the effort.

Luck profile

Drinks & Daggers has a moderate influence of luck. Random elements like dice rolls and card draws have a notable but not exclusive impact on the game outcome. While players have some ability to mitigate the effects of randomness through strategic decisions and planning, luck still plays a significant role. The game has a balanced mix of luck and strategy, making it suitable for players who enjoy a combination of chance and skill.

Overview

Drinks & Daggers is a cooperative drinking card game set in the world of the podcast Greetings, Adventurers! Each player chooses a unique card deck to represent their character, and works together to defeat a villain also represented by a deck of cards. Since the hero decks have different actions, items, and reactions which synergize in nearly endless ways, and each Villain presents varied challenges, every game will play out differently. Consuming alcohol is optional, and can be represented instead with drink tokens, but drinking is tied directly into the game mechanics. Each hero has a power which is activated anytime they give a fellow hero a drink, and these powers are amplified when heroes become "smashed." Each of the three villains has a regular and hard mode for players who are looking for an extra challenge. —description from the publisher
