Corps of Discovery is a cooperative deduction and survival game set in the comic-book world of Manifest Destiny. A map slides beneath a wooden grid and is covered by path tokens, turning every scenario into a hidden logic problem. Terrain rules tell the group where water, food, medicine, and other resources can exist; players must combine those clues, reveal locations efficiently, and meet a chapter objective before the expedition collapses from thirst or hunger. The Fauna and Flora chapters in the core game change enemies, goals, and tactical priorities, while training maps teach the unusual deduction system without spoiling later discoveries. Twenty-two maps provide substantial variety, and the publisher supports the system with additional map packs and four larger expansions. Conversation and shared planning are essential, but risk never disappears: every lifted token can uncover the resource you need or the threat you hoped to avoid.
