Replay value

Blink offers a high level of variability with its gameboard, allowing for different experiences each time it is played. The presence of expansions adds some new content, but they are not as impactful. The game provides a decent level of strategic depth, allowing players to discover new tactics and strategies. The player interaction score is fixed at 3.6. Blink scales well with different numbers of players, maintaining its appeal and balance. It is relatively easy to learn with an easiness to learn score of 4.5. Overall, Blink has a good replayability score of 7.3, indicating it offers a fresh and engaging experience with room for improvement in strategy over time.

Luck profile

Blink has a moderate level of luck involved in the game. While random elements like card draws play a notable role in determining the outcome, players have a substantial ability to mitigate the effects of luck through strategic decisions and planning. The game strikes a balanced mix of luck and strategy, with player decisions playing a significant role in the final outcome. Overall, Blink offers a good balance between luck and player agency.

Overview

The two-minute-long, two-player card game Blink bills itself as the fastest game in the world. Without taking turns, players race to empty their hands by matching the color, shape, or number of symbols on their cards in hand to the top card of the two discard piles in the center of the table. As soon as a player lays down one card, they can draw another, up to the hand size of three cards. If both players can't play, they can both draw a card directly onto the discard pile at the same time and then continue play. The first player to empty their hand and draw pile wins. The rulebook includes variants for three- and four-player games. Blink: Bible Edition is the same game with Christian faith icons.
