Table feel

Band Manager: The Boardgame has a moderate level of direct confrontation and strategic depth. Players need to pay attention to each other's actions frequently. However, there is less emphasis on cooperation in the game.

Replay value

Band Manager: The Boardgame has a high replayability score due to its high variability gameboard, availability of expansions, deep strategic possibilities, and adaptability to different player counts. The game offers fresh experiences each time it is played, allowing players to discover new tactics and strategies. The player interaction score is average, but the game compensates for it with its other strengths. While it may take some time to learn, the depth it offers makes it worth the effort.

Luck profile

Band Manager: The Boardgame has a moderate influence of luck. Random elements like dice rolls and card draws have a notable but not exclusive impact on the game outcome. Players have some ability to mitigate the effects of randomness through strategic decisions and planning. The game's outcome is a balanced mix of luck and strategy.

Overview

A card game dedicated to all the bands who haven't made it (yet) Band Manager: The Boardgame is a love letter to the music industry: players feel the pressure of becoming more mainstream to survive, and must navigate the uneasy balance between companionship and headcount in a touring band. Starting with nothing but pure passion, players go on tours to win career opportunities and fans. However, tours are expensive and risky. The risk may be mitigated by cooperating with others, but then players must split the spoils, so band members must earn their place or be left out. Early in players’ career, tours are niche; poorly promoted with obscure genres & unusual instruments (bagpipe reggae?). As the game progresses, players gain success by selling out to more mainstream music and learning how to do effective marketing. As their careers take off, the incentive to cooperate with other players fades away, leaving nothing but a desperate race for fans.
