Ayar: Children of the Sun is a mid-weight strategy game that retells the Inca origin myth through the journey of four developing clans. On a turn, players place workers, travel between locations, gather resources, improve farming, pottery, weaving, and reed-bundling skills, and help determine which of the Ayar siblings advance or meet their fate. That shared influence matters because each surviving Ayar rewards a different developed skill. Inti and Mama Quilla add a second tension: tactical opportunities can win the sun god’s favor while long-term planning pleases the moon goddess, but the lower of the two divine scores limits the endgame result. Tile placement, track movement, area influence, and worker placement interlock across a richly illustrated Andean map. The clan with the strongest balanced legacy founds Tawantinsuyu.
